The Hobbit Strategy Battle Game Rule Book

Here's the latest battle with my son... he loves Arnor and insisted on having an Ent and Treebeard to battle my Angmar army, monsters and all.

This wasn't so easy for him and he was worried about the amount of monsters on the Angmar side, Arnor once again proved that despite their low courage they are very good solid troops.

I hope you enjoy the photos - hopefully I am back to club this week and can have a club battle and will post some photo's on this site.

In case you were wondering - my son won again - Arnor and the Ents simply couldn't be stopped... 

  

We often play Hobbit/LOTR SBG - both skirmish battles and walk through the books/films each Monday night and WotR on club nights.

We welcome anyone interested in playing The Hobbit SBG, Lotr SBG, WotR or any warhammer/40K battle - why not let us know so that we can arrange some starter battles, like the one above, or if you/your club want to challenge us. We have all the LOTR/Hobbit SBG figures and LOTR scenery from the Mines of Moria to the siege of Helms Deep, snow fields to desert boards ready and waiting.

Ok - so this is the end of month 1 and I have managed to complete my first 2 warbands of warriors as well as the army leader (Arvedui) and a banner and a captain to lead the two warbands...

.,,This will give me the maximum 6 points for month one!

Below are the images of my army placed in the ruins of Arnor.  I will be adding Malbeth and 12 rangers, Dunedain and Aragorn/Arathorn over the next two months!

Can't wait to see how well the army performs against other players and more importantly, whether I can win the importnat battle and earn some extra points.

We are playing the new Hobbit SBG rule from Games Workshop. 

Month 2

Expand your force to 500 points, complete with army list (name any un-named heroes) then battle your 500 point army against another gamer at the end of the month, 

Points are awarded as follows:

 - 5 points for complete a 500 point army (with army list), 

 - 3 points for a victory, 2 for a draw or 1 for a loss

(maximum 8 points)

Month 3

Paint a centre piece (monster/hero over 100 points) (Aragorn/Arathorn).

Expand your army to 700 points with army list

Play a multi-player game at the end of the month (doubles), 

Points are awarded as follows:

 - 2 points for centre piece

 - 3 points for complete 700pt force and list

 - 5 points for victory, 3 for draw and 1 for loss

(maximum 10 points)

Next month I will be painting the rest of my LOTR SBG army towards the challenges for month 2:

Warband 3:

Malbeth the Seerer

12 x Rangers of Arnor

If painted on time this will give me the maximum number of points again for month 2 (8 points) - then I will be on course to finish with maximum points at the end of month 3, when I will look at Arathorn / Aragorn and Rangers of the North or more Warriors of Arnor to complete my army.

Keep an eye out as I update my progress with painting this army and how it performs in battle in Month 2.
